Manual N: Commercial Load Calculation

Manual N, “Commercial Load Calculation,” is one of the most widely accepted resources for performing load calculations on commercial facilities. Published by the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA), a leading professional organization in the HVAC industry, this authoritative manual focuses on commercial buildings up to three stories in height. It incorporates the latest advancements and developments, including new materials, functional system requirements, and manufacturing methods. Manual N provides comprehensive background information and detailed technical procedures necessary for conducting effective load calculations. With this manual, HVAC professionals can perform both basic and exhaustive computer-based load calculations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in their work.

COMcheck is a software program developed by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to help ensure that new commercial building (or tenant fit-outs in existing buildings meet the energy efficiency requirements of the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC).  COMcheck may be acceptable in lieu of a manual N report, however, this is determined by the local county or jurisdiction, rather than statewide.
